Mastering Asana Sequence Design

In this weekend intensive for yoga teachers, you’ll review and apply principles of eloquent and organic sequence design, discuss how to use variations of poses within a set structure, and complete individually designed sequences based on anatomic, energetic, psychological, philosophical, and/or spiritual themes that will include variations for all levels of practice. The intensive will also include:

• A review of fundamentals: principles, elements, and features of a well-designed sequence
• Varieties of sequence design strategies
• Designing for peak poses, transitions, and experiences
• Asana and pratyahara: designing for inward movement
• Moving to Intersection poses
• Challenging transitions
• Moving from peak poses to counter poses
• Developing a clear and concise vocabulary

You’ll do a lot of work on the mat to see what works, help test one another’s sequences, and give one another feedback. You’ll gain revealing insights and develop valuable skills through the immediate application of the principles we’ll be discussing that will help you consistently design and teach yoga classes that are complete, authentic, and fantastic.

CE credits are available for yoga teachers. Workshops may also be used toward 200/300 Hour certification in conjunction with a personalized program planned with Hari-kirtana das, who is registered with Yoga Alliance.

There will be a one hour lunch break, with a vegan lunch provided, starting at 1:00 PM each day.

The all-inclusive fee for this 2-day workshop is $175. To insure the quality of training: Registration is limited to 10 participants. Yogis of all levels may participate.
