Yoga Philosophy Essentials: 3 Key Teachings for Here and Now

November 23 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm EST
$27

The teachings of yoga show us how to see the world more clearly, respond to it more meaningfully, and stay balanced no matter how topsy-turvy things get.

The challenge is that yoga philosophy is a vast and intricate system of thought, full of nuanced connections that can make it hard to translate into everyday life—or into language your students can immediately relate to.

The solution: **focus on just a few essential ideas, understand how they fit together, and explore how to integrate them—both in your own practice and in your teaching—**one small step at a time.

In this live 90-minute online workshop, we’ll unpack three essential ideas in yoga philosophy:

  • The relationship between the eternal spiritual person (purusa) and the temporary material body (prakrti).
  • The gunas—the three qualities of material nature—one of the most empowering and least understood ideas in yoga philosophy.
  • The connection between yoga—the science of uncovering your true nature—and dharma: how to live in harmony with your true nature.

You’ll come away with a clear understanding of each concept and how they work together to offer a new and transformative way of looking at ourselves, one another, and the world.

This will be a highly interactive experience: you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss the implications of these teachings, and share your thoughts on how to apply them in your life and classes.

This workshop will be especially valuable for yoga teachers who want to feel more confident explaining these foundational concepts and weaving them naturally into their students’ experience.

The best way to experience the meaning and purpose of traditional yoga wisdom is to look at the modern world through the lens of a few specific spiritual teachings and connect those teachings to our lived experience.

I hope you’ll join me for this relevant and engaging workshop.

The recording will be available for replay.

This course is registered with Yoga Alliance and offers 1.5 hours of CE credit.
