Harmonium and Chanting Workshop

Yoga teachers: if you want to learn simple techniques for accompanying yourself on the harmonium while leading Sanskrit chants in their yoga classes, this workshop is for you. You don’t need any musical knowledge, just a sense of rhythm and a strong desire to chant. You’ll learn how to find your favorite melodies on the harmonium, play simple two-note chord sequences that create deep and full sounds, and inspire your students to enthusiastically participate in call-and-response chanting. And if you don’t yet own a harmonium, I will connect you to a source for excellent portable harmoniums at a very affordable price. You’ll come away from this workshop knowing how to teach yourself new melodies and mantras and feeling empowered to play and chant with confidence.
